Marita Radloff

just like… health

The Story You Already Read. You got this in your welcome email. Still curious? Fine. I'll tell you more.

Start your healthy journey

The long version

So here's what I didn't tell you: I was terrible at being an athlete at first. Like, genuinely bad. The kind of bad where you wonder if maybe you misunderstood your calling entirely.

But I kept showing up. Track and field taught me that. Then biathlon taught me that freezing your ass off while trying to hit targets with a rifle is somehow character-building. (It is. I don't recommend it, but it is.)

Somewhere in there, I got curious about food. Not in a "let me Instagram my salad" way — in a "wait, what is this actually doing to my body?" way. So I studied. And studied. And became one of those people with letters after their name.

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Seattle University c/o 2010

Bachelor of Science in Food and Human Nutrition, University of Alabama c/o 2014

Dietetic Internship and Graduate Certificate in Dietetics, Iowa State University c/o 2015

Master of Science in Nutrition, University of Alabama c/o 2017

Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), Commission on Dietetic Registration, 2018

Then I had kids

Three boys, to be specific. Three boys who think broccoli is a personal attack and bedtime is a suggestion. And suddenly, all that knowledge?

It had to work in the real world. The one with grocery store meltdowns and someone asking "what's for dinner?" before breakfast is even over.

What I do now

I'm a Certified Sports Nutritionist and Precision Nutrition Coach. Which sounds impressive until you realize it mostly means I know the science behind why your kid won't eat vegetables and I still can't fix it. I write.

I teach what I've learned. And I work with people who want honest, science-backed guidance without the diet drama.

If you're curious about working together — whether you're an athlete looking for a fuel strategy, a parent trying to feed your family without losing your mind, or just someone tired of nutrition advice that doesn't work in real life — I'd love to chat.

Some things you
should probably know

I believe in science. And also in enjoying your food.

I don't do "clean eating." I do real eating.

My kids are my toughest critics and worst clients.

I still think about that Mac laptop fantasy sometimes.

Coffee is non-negotiable.

Why this blog exists

Because back in university, I wanted to write but had nothing to say. Now I have plenty to say.

sparkle

About fueling your body.

sparkle

About moving without breaking yourself.

sparkle

About navigating motherhood while trying to maintain some version of yourself.

Turns out, I just needed to live a little first.

Let's Talk (literally)

I've always wanted to be a podcast guest. Or sit down for a YouTube interview. The kind of conversation where we actually say something real. If you're hosting and think I'd be a good fit — reach out. I'd love to.
